Schedules:
Ballet: The foundation of all other forms of dance and a must for serious dancers. Students learn classical positions, barre work, center floor, leaps and turns.
Contemporary: Contemporary dance is the name for a modern concert dance genre. It is not a specific dance technique but a collection of methods developed from modern and post-modern dance and can take on many forms including dance fusion, emergent dance and revisionism.
Jazz: This class the latest dance moves, across the floor work including kicks, turns, leaps, and dance routines.
Hip Hop: This high energy class highlights popular dance steps seen in current music videos. Music and choreography are age appropriate.
Tap: A lively, fun dance making rhythm with your feet. Excellent for coordination and fun for all ages.
Flexibility/Conditioning: A strength and conditioning class which also includes turns. This class will make you sweat!
Acrobatics: This class incorporates mat gymnastics into dance. Students learn tumbling passes they can use to highlight dance moves.
Jumps and Turns: This class is for dancers with at least two years of experience who want to improve balance for multiple turns as well as add strength and height to their jumps.
Lyrical: A wonderful combination of basic jazz and ballet. Students learn to stretch or snap movements and interpret the music in choreography.
Tiny Tots: Children are given a fun introduction to the basics of dance. This program provides a solid foundation for future success in ballet, jazz, tap, and other styles. Ballet and tap shoes along with a small bag are required for this class. Ages 3-4.
Pre-Ballet/Tap: Students learn the joy of dance in our most popular combination class. Children will learn some basic tumbling skills throughout the year. We use lots of props and fun songs to peak their interest. Ages 4½ - 6.
Dress Code
Pre Ballet/Tap : Any color leotard, tights, pink canvas or leather ballet slippers, black tap shoes.
Ballet I-V: Black leotard (any style), pink full footed or convertible tights, pink canvas or leather ballet slippers, hair in a bun.
Jazz/Hip Hop: Jazz pants, yoga pants,or tights with shorts (cut off tights are ok). Form fitting tank top that does not show the stomach when arms are raised. Black jazz shoes. Hair in a pony tail or bun.
Tap: Jazz pants, yoga pants, or tights with shorts (cut off tights are ok). Sleeved shirts are ok. Black tap shoes. Hair may be worn in any style for tap.
Hip Hop: Sweat pants, any top, tennis shoes. Hair may be worn in any style for hip hop.
Lyrical and Modern: Jazz pants, yoga pants, or tights with shorts (cut off tights are ok). Leotard (any style/any color). Form fitting tank top may also be worn. PAWS, foot undies, or bare feet. Hair may be worn in any style (recommend down or half pony for these styles) *If you are getting foot undies, I HIGHLY recommend the PAWS brand. They are bit more expensive but they fit better and last longer.
Acro: Tights with shorts (cut off tights are ok or booty shorts worn under track shorts are also ok). Leotard (any style/any color). Form fitting tank top may also be worn. PAWS, foot undies, or bare feet. Hair in a pony tail or bun.
